The Hofstra University Model United Nations Conference is a simulation that allows students to come together and discuss international affairs. In particular, our conference is aimed at providing students with information about the international political agenda, particularly the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. High school student participants will hone their debate skills and network among like-minded students.
Hofstra University is an ideal site for such a simulation. The University has distinguished itself by hosting a variety of exciting political events, including the second U.S presidential debate on October 16, 2012, the third and final U.S. presidential debate of 2008, the award-winning Educate '08 civic education series, Renew New York (a series of events about issues of concern to New Yorkers), and the 2010 New York state gubernatorial debate. With Hofstra’s first-rate facilities, knowledgeable staff, and dynamic students and faculty, the Hofstra University Model United Nations Conference is sure to feature an unforgettable two days of engaging debate and discussion.
