My name is Sarah Sicard, and I will be serving as undersecretary-general for the Hofstra University Model United Nations Conference. I am a sophomore at Hofstra University, with a double major in print journalism and political science. I grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, where I attended Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School. Some of my hobbies include playing sports, oil painting, and listening to music. This year I am parliamentarian of Hofstra’s Student Government Association as well as vice president of Hofstra’s Model U.N. Club.
This simulation will provide you with hands-on encounters in high-level politicking. It is my sincere hope that when you leave this conference, you will have gained a deeper understanding of the role of the United Nations, as well as an enormous sense of fulfillment from your accomplishments.
I have participated in Model U.N. since my first year of high school and attended 11 conferences since then. I am truly looking forward to hosting Hofstra’s first ever conference. It is sure to be an amazing experience.
