My name is Sarah Sicard, and I will be serving as your Secretary General for Hofstra University’s second Model United Nations Conference. I hail from Norfolk, Virginia; there I attended Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School in Virginia Beach. Currently, I am a junior at Hofstra University, pursuing a major in Print Journalism and minors in Political Science and Writing Studies and Composition.
This year, I have the most distinct please of serving as the President of Hofstra University’s Model United Nations’ Club as well as my second term on the Hofstra University Model United Nations’ Secretariat. I have participated in Model United Nations since my freshman year of high school and competed in twelve conferences since then. I am truly looking forward to carrying on the legacy of this Conference.
This strategic simulation is aimed at providing you with hands-on encounters in high-level politicking while encouraging you to widen your perspective of International Affairs. I have been working since last May to put together a dynamic Conference, with a team of exceedingly hard-working individuals that have an immense love for debate and an unwavering drive to create an incredibly thought-provoking experience. It is my sincere hope that when you leave this Conference, you will have gained a deeper understanding of the role of the United Nations, as well as an enormous sense of fulfillment from your accomplishments.
