Congressional Universe (via Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe)

This database provides CIS indexing and abstracting of congressional publications and the CIS Legislative Histories (1970-present); Full text of congressional reports, documents, prints, bills and the Congressional Record; Prepared statements and selected question & answer transcripts (1988-present); Bill tracking reports that follow bills through Congress and the text of bills; Public laws and the United States Code Service; The Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations; Biographical and financial information and voting records; Rosters, charters and schedules for committees and subcommittees; An insider's perspective on recent legislative activities through the National Journal; Relevant publications on key American public policy issues; and other Web sites with useful information about Congress and American politics.


Dow Jones Interactive

This multipurpose database provides timely facts, figures, analysis, and breaking news stories on industries, companies, people, and the U.S. government, and domestic and international financial markets and economies. The Publications Library is a searchable archive of more than 6,000 business and industry periodicals, the full text of The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and the Financial Times, as well as dozens of newswire services. The Business Newsstand allows you to browse the front page headlines from the newspapers mentioned above as well as cover stories from Barron's, Forbes, Fortune, and SmartMoney. This database can also be used to review detailed corporate profiles.


JSTOR

Currently, there are over 100 journals available through the library's JSTOR subscription. The following subject areas are covered: African-American Studies, Anthropology, Asian Studies, Ecology, Economics, Education, Finance, History, Literature, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Population Studies, Sociology, and Statistics. Unlike other services, JSTOR makes the complete back run of these journals in these disciplines available.


Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe

This database provides Web-based access to nearly 5,000 publications, which span news, financial, medical, and legal information. Most of the titles on LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe are available in full text, with a limited number available in abstract form. The service covers newspapers, magazines, wire services, federal and state court opinions, federal and state statutes, federal regulations, and SEC filings such as 10-K's, 10-Q's, and their exhibits. News information is updated daily and wire services several times daily. LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe covers top news, general news topics, and news transcripts; foreign language news sources; company, industry, and market news; legal news; company financial information; general medical and health topics and medical abstracts; accounting, auditing, and tax information; law reviews; federal case law; U.S. Code; and state legal research.


ProQuest Direct

This is an online information service that provides summaries of articles for thousands of publications, with many in full text, full image format. ProQuest Direct contains ABI/Inform Global which provides indexing and abstracting of more than 1000 business and management related periodicals with full text access to more than half of these titles. It also has a component allowing users to search the publications of the American Medical Association. ProQuest¦s PA Research II section has three databases. The PA Research II Newspapers covers newspapers such as the New York Times, USA TODAY, Wall Street Journal, as well as others. The PA Research II Periodicals section includes a wide range of topics in more than 1800 popular, business, and academic publications with more than 900 available full text. The PA Research II Peer Reviewed database allows users to limit their searches to peer reviewed (refereed) journals. The ProQuest Newspapers component provides indexing and abstracting of 27 national newspapers, of which more than 20 are available full text.


TableBase

This is a database comprised of tabular information. Many of the table records also have textual content, which supports the data in the tables. The tables provide information such as: market share, market size, capacity, production, imports, exports, sales, product and brand rankings, forecasts, healthcare statistics and demographics. Tables are drawn from the more than 1000 sources that go into the Business & Industry database and from statistical annuals, brokerage reports, trade association reports, and governmental reports.


WilsonSelect

Provides indexed and abstracted records with accompanying full text in periodicals from H.W. Wilson General Science Abstracts, Readers¦ Guide Abstracts, Wilson Business Abstracts. It includes U.S. and international professional publications, academic journals, and trade magazines. Coverage began in 1994.
