National Library of Education

The National Library of Education (NLE) is the largest federally funded library devoted entirely to education. It collects primarily in the area of education with special emphasis on theory, policy, and research. The general collection consists of more than 100,000 books, about 805 periodical subscriptions, and more than 450,000 microforms. The NLE web site has links to numerous U.S Department of Education projects. The GEM (Gateway to Educational Materials) project provides educators with quick and easy access to the substantial collections of educational materials found on various federal, university, non-profit, and commercial Internet sites. The National Clearinghouse for Educational Facilities (NCEF) provides information resources for people who plan, design, build, and maintain K-12 schools. University of Virginia Education Library

This university-based site offers a very good web site for education resources.
