The Library's circulating collection is arranged on open shelves according to the Library of Congress classification scheme. The call number and status of a book can be found on the online catalog. It should be copied and a note made of any special locations indicated, such as Reference, Special Collections, etc. The book stack locators, found throughout the library building, indicate the floor where the book can be found in its call number order on the shelves.

Books to be taken out should be brought, with a valid Hofstra ID, to the Circulation Desk near the main entrance. Books may be borrowed for a period of four weeks and renewed for an additional four weeks if not requested by another user.

Students, faculty, and staff may renew books using this form. This renewal is good for a second loan period. You will receive confirmation via e-mail.
