Calkins Hall is the home of Fine Arts, Literature, and Languages. On the first floor the Alex Rosenberg
Gallery (dedicated on May 12, 1995) displays student artwork and pottery. Also included in the building is a
computer lab. The buildings' square footage is 56,504 and it was designed by Aymar Embury with later alterations
by Louis Jensen. Formerly used as the gymnasium, this building was named for the first President of
Hofstra, Truesdel Peck Calkins. |
