Mason Hall's current academic uses include Counseling, Psychology and Research in Education, School of Education, Reading, and Office of Field Services. Its square footage is 21,762 and it was designed by Aymar Embury. The Gallon Wing was added in 1958 and was designed by Embury, Embury, and Jensen. The Emily and Jerry Spiegel Theater was also built in 1938 and renovated in 1986. The building was dedicated in 1941 to honor Kate Mason Hofstra.
