The
Hofstra University archives and the Long Island Studies Institute presents
the September 11th collection. The collection highlights Long Island's
experience of the events of September 11th and its aftermath on the various
communities of Long Island. The series is comprised of various responses
to the events that day from former employees to religious, government,
education, and international institutions. The collection's various
photographs, documents, and physical artifacts from September 11th brings
further insight to the tragedy of that day. Through over 400 photographs
of memorials from Nassau and Suffolk County, the collection captures the
artistry and various expressions of remembrance. The September 11th collection
offers to preserve the insights of those that witnessed, grieved, and
reflected on that day. Please
