The Hofstra University Museum presents a new exhibition that utilizes visual interpretations to showcase the importance of the Presidential Conference Series at Hofstra University, which began in 1982. The Presidents: 1933-2001, History of Presidential Conferences at Hofstra University, will be on view September 8, 2008 through December 8, 2008 in the David Filderman Gallery and through October 26, 2008 in the Rochelle and Irwin A. Lowenfeld Conference and Exhibition Hall.

Shashi Tharoor, Ph.D., former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, author, and chairman of Dubai-based Afras Ventures will discuss the United State's role on the world stage at Hofstra University on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 3 p.m. in the Monroe Lecture Center Theater, California Avenue, South Campus. The lecture is sponsored by The President's Educate '08 Event Series, the Diversity Task Force, the Peter S. Kalikow Center for the Study of the American Presidency, and The John D. Miller Fund at the Long Island Community Foundation.

Hofstra University has launched Educate '08, an unprecedented educational effort that will engage students, faculty and also the public in a year-long series of conferences, events and lectures about the 2008 election, politics and presidential history.
