Earlier this semester, Miguel-Angel Zapata, associate professor of romance
languages and literatures, presented the inagural copy of The Hofstra
Hispanic Review (HHR) to Hofstra President Stuart Rabinowitz. HHR,
for which Dr. Zapata is editor, is a peer-reviwed journal that will be published
three times a year. It features articles, interviews, creative work, and
book reviews in English and Spanish dealing with Hispanic literature and
culture. The publication will serve as a contact point for Hispanic writers
in the diaspora (United States, Europe, other Latin American countries) to
interact and resonate.
Much of the journal is dedicated to an exploration of the cultural and artistic
connections shared among the writers who no longer reside in their native
country and those who write in English or Spanish or both.
