Construction work for the long-anticipated renovation of the main floor
of Axinn Library began on May 21. According to Daniel R. Rubey, dean of library
and information services, President Stuart Rabinowitz has approved design
plans by the Locust Valley architectural firm Bentel & Bentel. The architects
worked closely with University faculty, administration and staff of the library
in developing the plans, which reflect the library’s role as the campus
gateway to information. The renovation will be completed early in the fall.
