Reorganization of University Advisement

In 2007, the Center for University Advisement was changed dramatically to better serve students. Students are now encouraged to:

  • Develop a relationship with their Advisement dean who learns each student's unique needs and regularly reaches out to assess each student's progress and development.
  • Set up an advisement appointment at their convenience by calling 463-6770, sending an email or dropping by the CUA in 101 Memorial Hall or 107 Student Center.
  • New advisement hours are as follows:
    • Appointment hours
      Monday and Thursday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
      Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
    • Walk-in hours
      Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 9 a.m.
      Monday - Friday 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Upon admission to Hofstra, each student will be assigned a dean, who will remain with the student throughout their academic career, and will be able to assist students with navigating all of the resources and opportunities at the University.
