Each year the Orientation and New Student Programs office recognizes the outstanding achievement and service of our students through the Freshman/Sophomore Recognition Awards. These awards are presented to selected students who maintain academic excellence, while being an active member of the Hofstra University community through co- and extracurricular involvement. Faculty and staff play a vital role in this process by nominating students whom they feel are outstanding, both inside and outside the classroom.
Nominees must:
- Be enrolled in classes at the University as a full-time undergraduate student
- Be achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Be actively involved with the campus community
- Have between 12 and 58 credits earned
- Not be on current judicial sanction
The three recipients of this award will receive a $100 gift certificate and a commemorative plaque.
