The Orientation and New Student Programs office also coordinates the Peer Mentor Program for new students. Freshman year is filled with a lot of great experiences and opportunities, and the Peer Mentor Program is designed to help you make the most out of your first year of college!
Participation in the Peer Mentor Program is voluntary, and freshmen are generally paired with their Peer Mentors based on a common trait – major, hobby, home state, etc. Freshmen and Peer Mentors learn each others’ contact information and can reach each other via phone or e-mail. In the past, new students and Peer Mentors have visited with each other, shared a meal, and even gone out socially. Additionally, we will provide several opportunities for new students and their Peer Mentors to get together!
