Welcome Week

Please join the students, faculty and staff of Hofstra University as we welcome you to campus to kick-off the academic year. Welcome Week is designed to help you meet new people and immerse yourself in campus life. The week will kick-off on Thursday, August 28, 2008, with your official welcome to the University from Hofstra President Stuart Rabinowitz. Throughout the week, there will be academic programs, trips, guest speakers, and social and educational activities planned. This is a great way to meet other students, develop friendships and get involved!

Remember to check your Hofstra e-mail account and hofstra.edu/welcomeweek on a regular basis for a more detailed Welcome Week schedule and other important notifications before the fall semester begins.

Join fellow new students, parents and families, faculty and University officials as President Stuart Rabinowitz welcomes the Class of 2012 and new transfer students.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 30, and SUNDAY, AUGUST 31

Explore Next Door Trips to New York City
Sign up will be on Friday, August 29, at the Mack Student Center Atrium from noon to 4:30 p.m. Trips are free of charge.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Classes begin for all undergraduate students.

New Student Convocation, 11:15 a.m.
John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus
The New Student Convocation is a formal welcome for all new students, which introduces you to the University’s rich academic traditions, faculty, schools and colleges.
