Discovery Program Housing
All students will be housed together in one residence hall for the duration of the program (regardless of whether they plan to live on campus or commute during the fall) in order to facilitate the goal of group interaction, programming, and discussion. Students will be housed in a double room and their roommate (from the Discovery Program) will be randomly assigned. If two program participants wish to room together, both people must indicate this on their registration form.
Discovery participants will be permitted to drop the majority of their belongings into their permanent fall residence hall room at the start of the program. Students should then pack a small bag to bring to their Discovery Program room, with just the things they will need for the few days of the program. Residential students will return to their permanent fall housing at the conclusion of the program.
Please see the below timeline for the complete moving process:
Arrival
- 2 – 6 PM: Students arrive on campus and drop their belongings off at their fall residence hall. Students must leave belongings in their rooms and bring with them only what they need for the program. Students will not be permitted to return to their fall residence room until the end of the Discovery Program. For a list of suggested items please visit: Frequently Asked Questions
- 3 – 6 PM: Both residential and commuter students may move into Stuyvesant Hall where they will stay for the duration of the program (any students whose fall residence is in Stuyvesant Hall will be placed in their permanent fall room during the program).
