Do You Accept the Leadership Challenge?

By becoming actively engaged through leadership, your development as a student leader can enhance your overall experience at Hofstra University and help broaden your skills for a successful career.

There are many avenues for individuals, clubs and executive club members to accept the leadership challenge by taking advantage of retreats, workshops, and more! OSLA provides training for club presidents and other executive board members, which focuses on strengthening your club's performance and passing the baton of leadership by equipping your club with assessment tools to evaluating your growth as an organization. The individual Leadership Challenge supports students to develop their skills as leaders before applying for leadership roles on and off campus, such as Club Presidents, Resident Assistants, Orientation Leaders, Internships, and Welcome Week Leaders.

Blue & Gold Leadership Program Mission

The Blue & Gold Leadership Program equips students with opportunities to acquire and implement leadership skills to enhance professional competence while documenting achievements that can lead to career, service, or leadership advancement. The Office of Student Leadership and Activities (OSLA) prepares students to serve in significant campus and community leadership roles, by providing leadership training.

Over the course of seven weeks, the Blue Leadership Program prepares students to serve in significant campus and community leadership roles, by providing in-depth leadership training. Participation in the SERVICEday Series is also a requirement. Interactive workshops are presented by Student Affairs administrators and/or guest speakers. Each two-hour workshop equips students with leadership knowledge and tools to succeed as leaders at Hofstra University and beyond. The leadership model for the SERVICEday Series is based on a foundation of theories and processes that cover 12 areas of leadership, including personal development, purpose and vision, collaboration, and service. Each workshop includes three mini-sessions and refreshments.
