Domestic Violence Awareness Month Resources

If you are a victim of Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault or know someone who is, please contact Public Safety at 516-463-6789 as soon as possible.

Hofstra University also offers counseling to students who have been victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assaualt.  Appointments can be set up at Student Counseling Services at 516-463-6791.  If you need a counselor immediately call 516-463-6789.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2011: “Speak Out, Find Out, Look Out”

Take Back the Night
Tuesday, October 25, at 7:30 p.m.
Student Center Theater, Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, North Campus
Speak up and out against domestic violence.  While walking around campus, talk to your peers about past relationships and discuss how to promote domestic violence awareness.  The first part of the event will give students the opportunity to speak about issues and past experiences regarding domestic violence.  While the second part is a walk around campus in an effort to break the silence and bring greater awareness towards this topic.  Refreshments will be served. This event is sponsored by Hofstra’s Women of Action and the Office of Student Leadership and Activities.

Are you in a healthy relationship? It is time to find out!  Discuss what constitutes a healthy relationship, and learn what you can do when you realize you are not in one. Refreshments will be served.This event is sponsored by the Interfaith Center and the Office of Student Leadership and Activities.
