JOB AND INTERNSHIP SEARCH/APPLICATIONS
Employer job and internship postings are updated daily. From this system, you will be able to upload resumes, cover letters, unofficial transcripts and writing samples via the Documents feature. This will enable you to directly apply for positions posted on the system and the Applications feature will keep track of positions you have applied to. There are two job search options: positions exclusive to Hofstra and the NACELink option, which is a national job search.
VAULT
Search for jobs, internships, company information, view videos on tips for success and so much more on Vault! Wondering what a consultant’s job really is? Search Vault for detailed information on job descriptions to learn more about your field of interest. This content must be viewed prior to scheduling a job or internship search-related appointment with you Career Advisor. Note: Vault is available as a separate app in the myHofstra Portal under "my apps."
BIG INTERVIEW
Prepare for your interviews by interacting with this great resource. Whether you are heading towards your first interview for a position or needing more in depth practice for technical, case or higher level interviews, Big Interview is your first stop, providing video and other resources to help students prepare for job interviews. All sections in Module 1 must be viewed prior to scheduling an interview prep appointment with you Career Advisor. Note: There is an announcement on your Pride CMS homepage that contains the link to this tool.
CAREER LEADER
Not sure about your major? Seeking to understand more clearly about what will create job satisfaction for you? Career Leader is designed to assist graduate business students in learning how best to use their talents. You are required to complete this assessment prior to an appointment with your Career Advisor to discuss major selection of career counseling. Note: There is an announcement on your Pride CMS homepage that contains the link to this tool. You must request authorization: email Lisa.A.Kellerman@hofstra.edu
CAREER FAIRS
Throughout the school year, specialized career fairs and general job and internship fairs are held. Typically, there is an Accounting/Finance Fair in September, and a general career fair in March. The Pride CMS will post a list of upcoming fairs under the Events feature and you will be able to view employer information, as well as a list of positions they are recruiting for.
REGISTER FOR MBA/MS EVENTS, PROGRAMS AND WORKSHOPS:
A complete listing of scheduled workshops, Executive Speaker Series, corporate information sessions, and on-campus conferences are posted in the "Events" under "Workshops." Note: You can view all MBA/MS-related programming and register for each event by searching for the keywords "MBA/MS" in the events search box.
RESUNATE AND THE ZARB ONLINE RESUME BOOK
Upload your current resume information and pick a template. Resunate does all the work! Interested in how your resume stacks up against a job or internship description? Enter the information in the appropriate space and Resunate will assist you in creating a more effective fit for the position by recommending changes in your resume wording. You are required to upload your current resume into Resunate prior to a resume appointment with your Career Advisor. Note: There is an announcement on your Pride CMS homepage that contains the link to this tool. You must request authorization: email Lisa.A.Kellerman@hofstra.edu
Each year, Zarb Graduate Business Career Services reaches out to hundreds of top employers to invite them to view current graduate business candidate resumes online to fulfill internship and full-time positions. This tool is available through PRIDE CMS. It is required that you continually update your resume to reflect your accumulated skills and experience. You must have your resume reviewed by you Career Advisor (after using Resunate) so it can be included in the Online Resume Book. View online resume book requirements.
ON-CAMPUS RECRUITMENT
Each semester, a formal recruitment program is organized with participating companies to post available positions and schedule a date to come to campus to conduct interviews of invited candidates. Students who wish to participate must attend at least one On-Campus Recruitment Orientation to be enrolled in the program (usually in the first month of the semester) and must get their account reactivated at the beginning of each school year thereafter (September). Note: There are deadlines to participate in the program, so it is advisable to inquire at the beginning of the semester as to the orientation dates. The program is only open to current students.
