A Message from the Director
Hofstra University offers excellent undergraduate and graduate programs on a beautiful, suburban campus, an academically challenging environment, a nationally renowned faculty, state-of-the-art living and learning facilities, exciting programs and an award winning dining service.
The Dining Services currently has 16 campus locations that are conveniently situated. The Student Center, located in the core of the campus, has a Student Center Café that offers an authentic Asian food station, a gourmet salad bar, vegan and vegetarian specialties, organic food, a sushi bar, Charcoals (burgers on fresh baked buns), The Wrap Station (wraps and panini sandwiches), The Omelet Pan (omelets and waffles made-to-order), The Juice Event (California-style juice bar), an ice cream and hand-rolled pretzel station, fresh baked muffins, pastry and cakes. Also located in the Student Center is the Mediterranean Market (featuring kosher food), the Rathskellar and the Pura Vida coffee shop.
Coming soon this fall in the Student Center Atrium is Maui Tacos (a fusion of the bold tastes of Mexico with the flavors of Hawaii) and Pizza Exchange (personal size pizzas, pizza salad bowls and traditional pizza).
As go south towards classes, you'll find Café Bistro at Bits & Bytes, a visually exciting environment that offers a wide range of food choices, including salads made-to-order, a West Coast style Sicilian pizza, panini sandwiches, and a variety of packaged specialty items.
The next stop is Café on the Quad, which features Starbucks Coffee and an assortment of fresh baked goods.
Next is the Hofstra Deli, one of the most popular places on campus. The Deli offers a variety of deli sandwiches and grilled items, bottled drinks, take-out items and plenty of snacks.
As you enter Breslin Hall for a class, you will bump into the Breslin Kiosk. Enjoy some fresh juice, coffee and a muffin, or stop in later for lunch.
If you are attending class in C.V. Starr Hall, the main level has the Starr Café. This modern shop offers a mix of hot and cold "grab & go" food, specialty salads and sandwiches, bottled drinks, coffee, muffins, cakes and pastries.
Should you be taking a class in Hagedorn Hall, you will see the Cyber Café, fresh brewed coffee, hot and cold gourmet food, specialty salads, fresh baked goods and a variety of snacks and drinks.
As you make your back to the north side of campus, there is the Netherlands located on on Oak Street. This location has been designated as The First-Year Commons. It offers a spacious yet cozy atmosphere with outstanding food.
Continuing north is the Hofstra USA complex that includes Dutch Treats, a convenience store that offers a complete mix of groceries, fresh baked goods, household products, and a hot and cold deli section. As an added convenience to students, Dutch Treats is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Also located in the complex is Kate & Willy's. It offers table service dinner, a late-night menu and a Sunday brunch. Kate & Willy's is the entertainment center on campus, and a great place to meet friends and have fun.
At Hofstra University, our continuing commitment is to offer quality dining programs that reflects the varied lifestyles of today's students.
