Quality, Consistency and Innovation at Every Turn

Culinary Community

At Hofstra University we strive to exceed expectations by tailoring programs, services and dining venues to meet the needs of the students and the entire Hofstra community. Through customer satisfaction surveys, focus groups, comment boards and an open door policy, we encourage communication and feedback. This helps us better understand how to match our programs and services with the needs of the Hofstra University community. Our programs and services reflect the diversity and spirit of Hofstra University. Each location has its own identity with numerous food platforms and a large variety of items that can be enjoyed whenever your schedule allows. There is a meal plan to fit any lifestyle on campus with 24 hour dining services, 20 retail restaurant locations and a selection of meal plan options varying in points, tailored for any part-time and full-time student.

Student Focused Dining

Hof USA is the newly renovated Dave and Buster-style entertainment venue that opened to the campus community last fall. It is a unique dining location with an expanded menu derived from student-suggestions. Hofstra USA offers late-night hours, which fosters a sense of community by encouraging students to enjoy a “night-out,” right on campus.

In addition to the renovation of Hof USA, Dutch Treats, the 24/7 convenience store on campus was completely modernized and expanded. It now offers a larger selection of bottled beverages; hot Au Bon Pain soups and an increased variety of grab and go salads, sandwiches and snacks. Additionally, the entire store has been remodeled with a fresh, modern and welcoming décor.

Nathan’s Restaurant is the newest addition to our dining locations. It is located inside the Netherlands Café next to Subway. The menu offers hot dogs, hamburgers, signature French fries, chicken tenders, grilled chicken sandwiches and so much more. While you are there, stop by Java Connect for a coffee, tea, fruit smoothie or try our delicious iced Bubble Tea. New for fall, Bubble Tea is a Taiwanese drink that allows you to choose your flavor, choose your tea and choose your “bubbles”.

If dining at the Student Center, make sure you try some of the new concepts and offerings. In addition to guest favorites like Nature’s Organic, Charcoals, Sono and the Omelet station, we are now offering Masala Indian Cuisine. Masala features traditional Indian dishes with lots of flavor. Try the Somosa Chaat – a popular Indian street food.

New menu items have been added to Charcoals Grill in the Student Center Cafe. Philly Cheese Steaks and Grilled Cheese Panini sandwiches are some of the new items you will find there. The menu at the deli station has been expanded to include gourmet sandwiches in addition to all the traditional favorites.

Bits ‘n’ Bytes Café on the south side of campus has added Picantes Mexican Cuisine to its offerings. Picantes offers grilled quesadillas – with a twist. Unique offerings include the cheeseburger quesadilla and Kung Pao Chicken quesadilla.
