Here you can find information that every new student should know  about IT at Hofstra University.

McAfee Antivirus Enterprise Edition is required to access the Hofstra network.

WE SUPPLY YOU WITH MICROSOFT OFFICE AND MCAFEE ANTIVIRUS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST

If you choose to bring your own computer, here is what we recommend:

Hofstra University provides students with the following:

• Open-Access Labs
  • Provides access to hundreds of applications so you won't have to buy software.
• Repair Center
  • Is your computer broken? The repair center can provide assistance for hardware problems.
• Computer Support Center
  • The Computer Support Center can help you with non-hardware computer problems.
• Software
  • We provide you with copies of Microsoft Office and McAffee Virus Protection (required for network access), so don't buy it yourself!
• Printing
  • Each student receives 400 of print credits each semester, Fall, Spring and Summer (with no carry-over)
    • Black and white pages cost 1 credits
    • Color pages cost 10 credits
    • Same cost for single or double sided
