In order to use PridePrint, you must install the PridePrint client on your computer. Select your operating system from the right to download this software.
After installing the PridePrint client, follow the instructions below to print to one of the PridePrint release stations on campus.
REMINDER: To use PridePrint, you first need to install the PridePrint client on your computer. If you haven't already done so, please choose your operating system from the downloads box on the right to download and install the PridePrint software on your computer. You cannot complete the following steps if you have not installed the PridePrint client.
After you have downloaded and installed the PridePrint client, you may be prompted with a Login window.

Log in using your Hofstra Portal username and password. Once you have logged in successfully, the PridePrint Client will appear on screen.

Now would be the best time to set your PIN. Click on the [Details...] link in the bottom right hand corner of the client window or go to prideprint.hofstra.edu:9191

You may be prompted to login.

Once in the web interface, select [Change Details], located in the menu on the right sidebar.

This is where you set or change your PIN. Please be aware that your PIN number has to be at least 4 digits.

You cannot complete the following steps if you did not install the PridePrint client.
Step 1: Select PRINT from your application.
Step 2: Once the print dialog box opens, select the PridePrint printer. This printer will have the words PridePrint somewhere in the title.
Step 3: Go to one of the conveniently located PridePrint printers and swipe your ID card.

Step 1: At the PridePrint printer- Swipe your Hofstra University ID card(magnetic strip up) through the card swipe.
Step 2: If you haven't already done so, you will need to create a PIN. This PIN has to be at least 4 digits. You can use the touch-screen or the keypad to enter this.
[Remember this number as you will use it each time you use PridePrint]
Step 2a: After creating the pin, you will be asked to enter the pin a second time to verify your pin.
Step 3: Click on the [Print Release] Button.
Step 4: Select the job you want to release by pressing the arrow next to that print job.
Step 5: You will see a screen that will allow you to [PRINT] your file or cancel this print job [CANCEL JOB]. Press the appropriate button.
Note:
Once you send your job to the PridePrint queue, you can release it on any of the PridePrint release stations.
Once the print job has been printed or cancelled, it will no longer be available to be printed. However, you can make copies of any previously printed documents right at the printer, as long as you have the hardcopy.
Step 1: Click on the [Details...] link in the bottom right hand corner of the client window or go to prideprint.hofstra.edu:9191

Step 2: Using your Hofstra University username and password, log in to the PridePrint website.

Step 3: Find the "Recent Print Jobs" link in the left hand column and click it.

Step 4: Locate the print job you are trying to have refunded and click the [request refund] link in the "Status" column, which is the column furthest to the right.

Step 5: Complete the Refund Request form and click the "Send" button.

Note: Once you have requested a refund, it is submitted to a Hofstra University administrator who will, based on the reason, either confirm or deny a refund. Refunds will only be issued if there was a non-user based error with the print job. If you do not fill out a reason for your refund request, provide the appropriate amount, and leave your printout with a Student Assistant ,as instructed, you will be denied a refund.

Do I have to keep the PridePrint client open to print?
Yes, PridePrint client must be open but it can be minimized to your task bar or your dock.
Can I print in color?
At this time there are no color PridePrint printers available. If this is something you are interested in seeing, please make sure to tell us by filling out our survey and telling us.
This service just doesn’t work. What can I do?
If you receive an error on the printer itself when you go to use it, please e-mail SCS@Hofstra.edu with your name, location, and any error message you received. We will address the problem as quickly as possible and notify you once the printer is working again. If the problem you are having is coming from your computer, please stop by our office (110 Student Center) during normal business hours with the computer having the problem so that we can troubleshoot further.
All Operating Systems:
1. When you go to print your document, your computer freezes at a “processing” or “printing” screen.
a. This can happen if you do not have the PridePrint client open. Please launch the client by clicking on it’s icon in the Start Menu or in your Apps folder if you are using a Mac.
Mac Specific:
1. No Mac specific errors have been reported
Windows:
1. The printer is listed as being offline.
a. Cause 1: You are not connected to the Internet. You must be connected to the Internet to use this service.
b. Cause 2: You must be connected to a standard Hofstra network (either plugged in with an Ethernet cable or on HUNet) to use this service. You can not currently use this service from off campus or on the HUGuest network.
2. You go to print and nothing seems to happen (no errors)
a. Cause 1: The client is not installed or not running. Double check that the PridePrint client is installed and running.
b. Cause 2: You are not connected to the Internet. You must be connected to the Internet to use this service.
c. Cause 3: You must be connected to a standard Hofstra network (either plugged in with an Ethernet cable or on HUNet) to use this service. You can not currently use this service from off campus or on the HUGuest network.
