
Mission Statement

The mission of the Student Ombudsperson at Hofstra University is to provide students with an independent, impartial and confidential resource to help achieve a just and equitable solution to their problem. In this capacity, the Student Ombudsperson serves as an advocate for fairness of outcomes, not as an advocate for students or the University. In seeking to prevent problems as well as respond to them, the Student Ombudsperson acts as an agent for change by investigating complaints, evaluating administrative policies and procedures, and recommending modifications where appropriate.
