Credential Files

A credential file is an online file that allows students/alumni to request, store, manage and send letters of recommendation to graduate schools, medical/health professions schools, or potential employers.

Students & Alumni
The Hofstra University Career Center utilizes a comprehensive software system to manage the credential file system, the Pride-Career Management System.  This system is available to all students and alumni through the MyApps feature of the Hofstra Portal.
If you are a student or alumnus and would like more information about how to start a credential file please open the following brochure:

All students interested in pursuing graduate studies in health-related professions should register with the Pre-Health Advisement Dean in the Center for University Advisement.  For more information and links to the Faculty Appraisal Form (which will be scanned into your Credential File) visit:  www.hofstra.edu/prehealth  and click on Forms

Writers (Faculty, Campus Administrators, Employers)
As a reference writer for a Hofstra University student or alumnus, you have the ability to write, upload, store and retrieve letters of recommendation via the Pride-Career Management System (Pride-CMS).  Please note, that the Hofstra Career Center encourages all students and alumni to speak with the reference writer directly to request a letter of recommendation.
