Hofstra Online Information System
User Guide

For Course Registration

Web Registration Requirements:

  • Internet connection
  • Valid Network ID (e.g. 1st letter of your first name, first 5 letters of your last name and corresponding #)
  • Valid password (first time users: 700#)
  • Valid six digit Alternate Pin to add/drop classes - only required for first semester freshmen and new transfer students. (Obtained from an Advisement Dean)

Logging On:

  1. Connect to the internet
  2. Type www.hofstra.edu in the address field and hit "enter" key
  3. Click on "(myhofstra)" on the right side of your homepage
  4. Enter your "Network ID and Password"
  5. Click on "Login" button

Main Menu - To Register for Classes:

  1. Click on "Hofstra Online" tab
  2. Scroll down and click on "Registration"
  3. Click on "Look Up Classes to Add"
  4. Select appropriate term and "Submit" term
  5. Scroll to the appropriate subject in "By Subject"
  6. You may enter the 3 digit course number (e.g.-English 001) below the subject box.
  7. Scroll down and click on "Find Classes"
  8. Click on the empty box to the left of the class you wish to add to your schedule.
  9. Scroll down and click "Register"
  10. Enter your semester sensitive "Alternate Pin" (Only required when registering as a first year freshman or new transfer student)
  11. Scroll down and click on "Student Schedule by Day and Time" and enter the appropriate semester date in order to see the schedule blocks. If a class is on the schedule grid, you have successfully registered for it.
  12. Click on "class search" to add more classes.
