Memorization Techniques

Remembering information is a difficult task, however there are various procedures that the brain can remember information. When we practice those procedures we must recognize that there are two forms of memory, recognition and recall. Recognition is our ability to acknowledge previously accessed information and process that information into a thought, we usually use recognition in multiple choice exams. Recall is the process of gathering information that we remember based on previously stored information, this is seen in fill in the blank or essay based exams.

Some principles to exercise our recall and recognition may include the use of pneumonic devices, singing, flash cards, and other methods. Many of these methods may be used effectively depending upon your preferred method of studying. The most important thing is that we practice,by practicing repetition allows the brain to recall and recognize information more actively.
