Student Government Association - Ways to Donate

WAYS TO DONATE TO THE SGA FUND

Student Government Association General Fund - All monetary contributions donated to the Student Government Association General Fund are unrestricted, and therefore, can be used as the Student Government Association deems fit.
Student Government Association Internal Use Fund - All monetary contributions donated to the Student Government Internal Use Fund will be used to only pay for internal expenses of the Student Government Association.
Student Government Association Committee Fund - All monetary contributions donated to the Student Government Association Committee Fund will be distributed to the Student Government Association Standing Committees. Please indicate if you wish to specifically donate to any of the following standing committees:
- Academic Affairs Committee: The Academic Affairs committee reviews and seeks solutions about academic and cultural issues at Hofstra University, consulting with the University offices and agencies as appropriate.
- Club Affairs Committee: The Club Affairs committee works with the clubs and organizations to create and maintain an active programming agenda, and shall coordinate the activities as necessary.
- Rules Committee: The Rules committee helps create new organizations and clubs on campus, as well as reviews all legislation before it is voted on by the Senate.
- Spirit Committee: The Spirit Committee works with the Athletic Department, and SGA Clubs and Organizations, to help promote and increase attendance at all campus wide events.
- Student Services Committee: The Student Services committee investigates concerns, complaints and suggestions made by any member of the University community and works with appropriate Hofstra University agencies and offices as it may see appropriate. The committee also coordinates the maintenance of any public service equipment or facility that the Student Government Association may establish.
Student Government Association Club/Organization Fund - All monetary contributions donated to the Student Government Association Club/Organization Fund will only be accessible to the Appropriations Committee, which will appropriate this additional funding to clubs and organizations. You may indicate if you wish to donate to a specific Student Government Association club or organization, in which case your donation will be transferred to said club or organization's budget and designated as income money. Student Government Association Lecture Series - All monetary contributions donated to the Student Government Association Lecture Series will be used by the Student Government Association to bring speakers to the Hofstra University campus.
Gifts-in-Kind - The Student Government Association shall accept gifts-in-kind from any individuals who wish to donate them.
Student Government Association Special Projects Fund - All monetary contributions donated to the Student Government Association Special Projects Fund will be used to fund specific projects and events which the Student Government Association wishes to sponsor. Currently, no new special projects are being pursued by the Student Government Association.
Student Government Association Scholarship/Endowment Fund - All monetary contributions donated to the Student Government Association Scholarship/Endowment Fund will be used to award active members of the Student Government Association and all those students involved in the clubs and organizations under its jurisdiction. The Student Government Alumni Association, underneath Alumni Relations, will choose the scholarship/endowment recipient(s).
Student Government Association Stipend Fund - All monetary contributions donated to the Student Government Association Stipend Fund will be used to distribute stipends to all members of the Student Government Association Cabinet.

Make sure that all checks are payable to Hofstra University. In the check's memo or on an attached note, please indicate that you wish for your donation to be used for one of the accounts under the Student Government Association Fund.
