The Name Box, located in the upper left-hand
corner of the spreadsheet, displays the currently selected cell (i.e.,
A3, F54, etc.).

Click on the Auto Sum button (it’s
the Greek letter sigma). You can also select SUM from
the list that appears when you click the Functions button, located next
to the Auto Sum button.

Click into the Formula Bar, located
above the spreadsheet and labeled with f(x).

can I change the font size, cell format or style in each cell to make the

Highlight the cells you want to format, and then go to Format,

in this dialog.

Highlight the cells you want formatted and go to Format,
Cells and then click on the Number tab. You’ll
be able to choose Currency from the number-type list that appears.

do I make cells bigger to accommodate more content? |
Double-click on the boundary between cell headings. For instance, if content
in cell A22 is being cut off, double-click on the boundary between the
headers A and B at the top of the spreadsheet.

do I place a header, footer or number on my pages? |
To insert a header or footer, or to number pages: |

to File > Page Setup and click
on the Header/Footer tab.

Microsoft Excel automatically list the days of the week? |
Yes. Simply enter a day of the week, and then click on the handle on the
lower right-hand corner of the cell and drag down. The rest of the days
of the week will populate the cells.

do I make and customize a graph? |
Highlight all the information you’d
like to chart, and then click on Insert, and choose Chart
from the menu. The Chart Wizard will appear, and walk you through the
process of creating a chart.
