Opscans (also known as 'bubble sheets') are standardized forms that instructors can use to administer multiple-choice exams. Students record their answer choices on the forms in pencil.

Instructors can bring the completed forms to the Faculty Support Center (215 McEwen Hall) for tabulation. The forms are fed through an Opscan reading machine.

Some faculty prefer scanning the quizzes themselves. This service is available whenever the Faculty Support Center is open.

Or, faculty can drop them off and we will arrange to have them scanned for you. Forms dropped off by 11am are usually available for pickup by 1pm the following business day. There are quicker turn-around times during finals week.

We can email the results of an OpScan back to you, but only to an official Hofstra email address for a faculty member.

Blackboard can also be used to administer quizzes before and after class. Blackboard can automatically grade multiple-choice quizzes and return the grades to the student.
