Faculty Computing Services offers training in many teaching tools. We arrange periodic workshops on various tools, and we are always available for one-on-one or group training sessions.

The Fall 2004 faculty workshops on advanced uses of Blackboard are online here. Let us know if you'd like us to facilitate a similar discussion for your department or school.

Also available are self-guided tutorials and our QuickSheets training library, containing printed documentation for many educational resources.

The Help Desk also offers training in many basic office applications, keeping your computer virus-free, and using Hofstra Online Information System to enter grades, get class rosters, and more.

Ultimately you have a choice: we can produce your teaching materials for you or we can teach you how to make them yourselves. If you learn to do it yourself, you can control everything about the work you do with your class - and you can do it on your own schedule.
