If you do not already have FTP on your personal PC at home or in the dorms, then you can now download the freeware program WS_FTP by clicking on the below icon:

| Once you click on the link to download, the "File Download"
dialog box (Figure 1) will appear. Choose the option "Save this program to disk."
This will download the FTP application to your hard drive. |

| When the "Download complete" window (Figure 2) appears you can either click the "Open" button or the "Close" button. If you choose the "Open" button, it will automatically take you into the setup for the FTP client. If you decide to press the "Close" button, you will have to manually find and open the executable file which you downloaded. That is, you must go to the folder where you saved the file and double-click it. After you have opened the file, you will then get instructions on what information is needed and how to install the program.

After Installation is completed, to launch the FTP program go to: Start-> Programs-> Ws_ftp-> and click the WS_FTP95 LE icon (figure 3)

| After clicking on Start-> Programs-> Ws_ftp-> and clicking the WS_FTP95 LE icon, the FTP application will launch. You will then see the "Session Properties" dialogue box (Figure 4). |

In the "Session Properties" dialogue box, fill in the fields with the
following information, then click on OK (Figure 5).
*Note: Only enter your password in the "Password:" field on this screen if you want the program to remember your password. If you want the program to save your password so you don't have to reenter it in the future, add your password to the "Password:" field and check off the "Save pwd" box on the right. Only do this if you feel the computer you are using is secure and not used by others.

After you have filled in the appropriate fields, click the "Apply" button to save your changes. To connect, click the "OK" button.
*Note: If you did not choose to save your password in the program, you will now be prompted for your password (Figure 6).

| In the left-hand panel, this will display the "Local System" (the disk
drive(s) of the computer you are currently using). In the right-hand
panel, this will display the "Remote Site" (your F: drive) (Figure 7).

| On the left-hand panel, select the drive (and/or folder) you want to
transfer your files to by double-clicking. After selecting where you want
to transfer files to, select the files to transfer from the right-hand
panel (your student F drive) (Figure 8). |

| You have the ability to transfer files in either direction. Simply
click the particular arrow (Figure 9) in the direction you want to
transfer the files. |

| When you are finished transferring files, click on the "Exit" button
in the lower-right corner, or the "Close" button in the upper-right corner
(Figure 10). And that's all there is to it! |
