Back by popular demand, one-hour Smart Bytes are available through December. Join us Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in McEwen 216 to overview Office 2007 products. Register for each Smart Byte session at www.hofstra.edu/training.

Walk-In Help: Individual assistance is available at the Help Desk, 108 McEwen Hall, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. or Saturday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Remote Assistance: Call the Help Desk to start a live session.


What's New

Online Incomplete Grade Policy

Changes to the Incomplete Grade policy are effective as of grades given for the fall, 2008 semester. Visit www.hofstra.edu/incfaqfac to view an FAQ for faculty.

Online Final Exam Schedule

Both students and faculty can view a schedule of their final exams within the Hofstra Online portal tab. This will be available for all future fall and spring semesters.

MY EXAMS for students appears on the Registration Menu. Faculty final exam schedule is listed under the Faculty Services Menu. Continue to check the schedule periodically as exam time approaches. Schedules are subject to change.

Campus Alert Confirmation

Every 180 days, Hofstra Online automatically launches your Campus Alert information requiring verification. After adding, reviewing or editing the contact information, click the Confirm and Submit button. The CANN page will return. Simply click one of the TABs above to continue.

Tips and Tricks

Where can I find online training resources for Microsoft Office 2007 programs? Visit www.office.microsoft.com, and click the HELP and HOW TO tab. Search version and topic to view a variety of resources on each product including video tutorials, guided training sessions and online documentation. Additionally, once you launch a particular product, click the HELP button for more resources.

What is the Microsoft Office 2007 ribbon? The ribbon is the area that spans the top of the window of all Office 2007 programs that organized features by tab and group. The tabs focus on major activities such as Page Layout, Review and Insert and are divided into groups of features and icons. Watch a video about each program by visiting www.office.microsoft.com. Click the "Help and How to" tab at the top and choose "Getting started with 2007 Programs" on the left..
