IMPORTANT FLEXIBLE SPENDING INFORMATION FOR 2013

Effective January 1, 2013, health care reform legislation limits the amount you can contribute to your healthcare flexible spending account to $2,500. The maximum contribution to your dependent care account remains at $5,000 per household.

Changes to ADP Flexible Spending Account Cards

Effective April 1, 2013, you will have the option of retrieving and using a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to have your ADP Spending Account Card purchases processed as a PIN-based debit transaction. It is important to note that you are not required to retrieve or use the PIN for your card. You may continue to use your card for signature-based debit transactions just as you always have, without the need to retrieve or remember a PIN, by simply selecting “credit” at the payment terminal. If a merchant prompts you to enter a PIN and you do not have one, simply ask the merchant if you may sign for the purchase.

On or after April 1st, if you wish to obtain a PIN for your card, you may do so by:

  • Logging into your account on the ADP Spending Account website (http://www.flexdirect.adp.com/).
  • Selecting the Quick Link for “Verify Card Status & PIN”.
  • Selecting the option for Retrieve under PIN in the card status grid to have the PIN displayed within your secure login.

NOTE: If you do not have web access, you may contact your ADP Participant Solution Center to have your PIN mailed to you.

Some key points to remember about the new PIN for the ADP Spending Account Card are:

  • The PIN is an assigned number and cannot be changed.
  • If you forget your PIN, you may retrieve it by following the steps noted above.
  • The PIN will continue for the life of the card.
  • When a new card is issued, a new PIN will be assigned for the new card.
  • If your card was issued for a health-based account (Health Care or Limited Purpose FSA) and you requested a card for your spouse or dependent, PINs are also available for these cards.
  • Using a PIN will not provide the option of cash back at the point of sale and the card will not work at ATMs.
