Material Safety Data Sheet Online
Federal, State and Local requirements require all businesses to maintain a list of any and all chemicals they have on-site. In addition, a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is required for just about everything on campus. From chemicals in the Chemistry and Biology labs to the soap in the bathrooms a MSDS is required to be on file.
Hofstra University maintains several sets of books cataloging all materials housed on campus. In addition, the catalogues are constantly being updated with new products, new product formulas and new product MSDS sheets.
In an effort to stay ahead of the compliance curve, Hofstra University started a project to maintain a list of all materials both in the physical catalogues and online. Access to the system available from all computers connected to the internet but is limited to appropriate personnel. If you have access to the online "Binderview" system, click HERE.
