Operation Crossroads Africa

The African Studies Program will soon welcome guest speakers from Operation Crossroads Africa to discuss the various programs sponsored by the organization.
Established in 1957, Operation Crossroads Africa is an organization that will give students the opportunity to discover Africa, or explore the African Diaspora through a series of communal projects.
All projects involve a component of physical work, and most are located in rural areas. Many involve construction of needed community facilities. Guided in their work by local builders and craftsmen, crossroaders and heir local counter parts for 43 years have cooperated on construction of youth centers, health centers, shelters for disabled, methane gas generators, wells, and a myriad of other structures that host communities have deemed vital.
