Organizations & Affiliations
APHOS (Association of Pre-health Oriented Students) is an organization for all pre-health students interested in fields such as medicine, dentistry, and the allied health professions. Also, APHOS is important if you are interested in applying to the premedical honor society (Alpha Epsilon Delta).
APHOS sponsors a number of activities every semester that are intended to provide students interested in health-related fields prepare for their future careers. During the bi-weekly meeting APHOS typically host one or more speakers who offer valuable information about health-related careers, MCAT/DAT strategies, medical school admissions applications, personal statements and the interview process.
The club also sponsors or participates in several charity and volunteer events (in the past we have participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5-Mile Walk, the Walk to Cure Diabetes, and a fund-raiser for the Make-a-Wish Foundation). The APHOS officers have several new ideas for this year, and we encourage our members to make more suggestions through the bulletin board on the Pre-Health Students' Blackboard site.
