If you have the intellectual curiosity and motivation to create and pursue an individualized plan of graduate study that does not conform to the restrictions of more traditional graduate programs, then the New College Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies is an ideal way to earn your graduate degree. Traditional Master of Arts programs are structured exactly like undergraduate programs. Students spend most of their time in the classroom, and the academic work is sharply focused on one academic discipline or area of study. In the New College Master of Arts Program, you design your own unique interdisciplinary plan of study and then pursue your plan working one-on-one in tutorial arrangements with Hofstra faculty who possess expertise in the subjects that most interest you.
