Graduation Requirements

Graduation for the program requires:

  • Completion of the minimum required semester hours prescribed by the specific program.
  • A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 in overall graduate course work.
  • Passing grade on the Comprehensive Examination.
  • All course work taken in satisfaction of the degree requirements must have been completed within a 5-year period.

Teacher Certification Requirements
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students are eligible to apply for the University's recommendation for New York State initial certification for special education and any additional certifications, extensions or annotations as applicable.
