What if I do not have an undergraduate degree in elementary education?

The MS in Education is designed for students who have a liberal arts and sciences undergraduate degree. If you are certified you should register for the MA in Education.

How long does it take for the application process, so that I can begin to take classes?

Four to six weeks.

Can I take classes as a non-matriculated student?

Yes, you can take up to 12 credits as a non-matriculated student. As a non-matriculated student, however, you will not qualify for student loans or any other financial aid.

When are your classes offered?

Most classes meet at 4:25 - 6:15 or 6:20 - 8:10 p.m.

How long will it take me to finish the program?

Most students complete the program in three semesters.

Where are your students from?

Most students commute from within a 50 mile radius of the campus.

What does the employment market look like in elementary education?

Excellent.

How long does it take for the application process, so that I can begin to take classes?

The processing of applications usually takes from four to six weeks. While we do have rolling admission, we encourage students to apply as early as possible to ensure that their application will be completed and processed before their desired start date.

Can I take classes as a non-matriculated student?

Yes, you can take up to 12 credits as a non-matriculated student. As a non-matriculated student however, you will not qualify for student loans or any other financial aid. Please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions for further information.

When are your classes offered?

The classes are usually offered either at 4:20 p.m. or 6:20 p.m. Required observations in the field must be completed during school hours.

How long will it take me to finish the program?

Most students complete the program in three semesters. However, individual differences and circumstances will determine the length of your program.

Where are your students from?

Most of our students are from areas within fifty miles of Hofstra.

What is the tuition?

For 200 and above level courses the tuition is currently $517 per credit hour.
