At a time when the validity of standardized testing is continually questioned, Hofstra University offers a program in which other criteria (GPA, class rank, recommendations) carry more weight in the admission process. Although standardized test scores are a part of the application process, they are not taken into consideration for admission to the School for University Studies.
Both the Freshman and Transfer Programs in the School for University Studies are designed to help entering students make a successful transition to Hofstra University. The School's interdisciplinary Liberal Arts curriculum encourages students to become confident, fluent participants in a rigorous and challenging academic conversation, while also satisfying the criteria for Hofstra University graduation requirements.
