M.S. in Community Health

The Master of Science in Community Health prepares students with specific skills and knowledge to understand the factors that influence health-related behavior, and to apply theory to modify health practices of individuals and communities. 

The multi-disciplinary program develops professionals trained to design, conduct, and evaluate health education, health promotion and disease prevention activities that improve the health of individuals and communities.

Graduates typically find employment in non-profit organizations and other community-based settings and coalitions, in public health departments and other governmental agencies; in hospitals, clinics and other health facilities; on college campuses; in workplace wellness programs in the private sector; and in advocacy and other professional associations.

• Benefit from a variety of class styles; take courses in person, online, and in a hybrid format.
• Take advantage of the field experiences built into the curriculum.  Each student participates in a community health internship to better prepare for full-time positions post graduation.

• Progress through the program at your own pace.  Individual advisement and flexible course schedules allow part time students to graduate within two years.
