Complaint Procedures Regarding Programmatic Issues
In the event that a student has a complaint about any aspect of the M. A. program’s policies, procedures, or implementation, the following protocol, in the sequence described, should be followed. All complaints at all levels must be in writing, signed and dated.
- a. Inform the Graduate Program Director within 10 business days of the occurrence of a situation or concern. Include dates, and other pertinent information.
- b. If the situation is not resolved, inform the Chair within 10 business days, including dates and other pertinent information.
- c. If the situation remains unresolved, inform the Dean of Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences within10 business days, including dates and other pertinent information.
- d. If the situation continues to be unresolved, inform the Provost, in writing, within 10 business days, including dates and other pertinent information.
Complaint Procedures Regarding Accreditation Issues
A student who has any concerns regarding the program’s accreditation status or compliance with accreditation standards may contact the Committee on Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the following address:

Correspondence with the CAA should include copies of any prior correspondence that were addressed to the Graduate Program Director and/or the Chair of the Department.
