The Hofstra University Precollegiate Career Discovery Institute Saturday Classes is a brand-new program from Hofstra Continuing Education that lets teens explore their passions and interests – and discover new ones – as they prepare for college and beyond. These interactive, hands-on classes and workshops, taught mainly by Hofstra professors, help teens plan for college and their future careers.

Our Saturday Classes will:

  • Prepare middle and high school students for college and allow them to experience classes – taught by college professors – on a university campus.
  • Offer students in our summer precollegiate programs and Saturday Classes for Young People a place to continue gaining valuable skills.
  • Help expose teens to potential careers.

Get Ready for College and Beyond with Hofstra University Precollegiate Career Discovery Institute Saturday Classes

It’s never too early to start prepping for college – and at the Hofstra University Precollegiate Career Discovery Institute Saturday Classes, we also offer courses for students AND parents on topics such as navigating the admissions process, how to choose a college and a major and what exactly a high school student should do to become a top-notch candidate. We’ll also help your children bone up on grammar and writing skills (so they’re ready for those college application essays, resumes and projects) and prepare them to ace exams with test prep.

Our Saturday Classes aim to make your children be the best they can be – but not just academically. We also offer workshops to promote self-esteem in girls, how to live a healthy lifestyle and how to control anxiety so athletes can up their physical game by better controlling their mindset.

The instructors – mostly Hofstra professors – selected for the Hofstra University Precollegiate Career Discovery Institute Saturday Classes include a communications specialist who worked for the Obama administration and the United Nations, top educational consultants and a forensic scientist at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in New York City.
