The Hofstra American Marketing Association (HAMA)
Hofstra University places 3rd in the 2009-2010 American Marketing Association’s case competition for UNICEF’s Tap Project.
The Hofstra American Marketing Association (HAMA) is a student run organization providing its members marketing career information and the opportunities and resources to grow professionally. HAMA is one of the largest student organizations on campus and is affiliated with the American Marketing Association. The club is open to all students regardless of major, and meets every other Wednesday during common hour.
While HAMA regularly provides professional guest speakers, it also does much more. Each year the club organizes and hosts its Networking Dinner, which is an opportunity for students to engage marketing professionals from the New York City metropolitan area in an informal and personal manner. Attending businesses not only offer career advice but also discuss upcoming internship opportunities. In addition to hosting its own conference on Hofstra University’s campus, HAMA also attends the American Marketing Association Intercollegiate Conference in New Orleans every spring and regularly brings home a number of prestigious awards. The club also participates in several philanthropic activities such as the Relay for Life.
HAMA also makes a regular appearance as a finalist in the American Marketing Association’s annual case competition where competing universities develop a marketing plan for an actual business problem. Most recently, HAMA has placed 3rd in the 2008/2009 Kodak and the 2009/2010 UNICEF Tap Project competitions. The Hofstra International Business Association (IBA)
Hofstra's International Business Association (IBA) is a student club organization focusing on career-oriented skills for students interested in networking with major employers to fulfill internship opportunities, future employment, and social activities.

The Advertising Club
Hofstra University places 1st in the 2010-2011 Northeast District of the American Advertising Federation’s case competition for JC Penney.
The Advertising Club is open to all students. The Club was created for students to help in their development for entry and advancement in the fields of advertising, sales, and communication. The Advertising Club is also a place for students to network among themselves and with professionals in these fields.
The Club meets on a regular basis during common hours. Throughout the semester, speakers meet with the Club to present an overview of their industries, tell their own personal stories, as well as educate students on internships and jobs. The Club also makes trips to advertising agencies, television networks, media companies, and other firms involved in the advertising and communication industries. New York Advertising Club events are also attended by club members.
The club is affiliated with the American Advertising Federation (AAF), an organization that offers many benefits to students. For example, the Advertising Club participates in the AAF's National Student Advertising Competition, which is the premier college advertising competition in the United States. It provides more than 3,000 college students with "real world" experience by requiring a strategic advertising/marketing/media campaign for a corporate sponsor. Corporate sponsors in the past have included Nissan, JC Penney, State Farm, and AOL to name just a few. Students present their work to industry professionals, meet competing students, and attend a job fair. Hofstra’s Advertising Club members compete regularly and have most recently placed 1st in the 2010-2011 Northeast District for the JC Penney case competition.

The Hofstra Fashion Club, aka, FIERCE! is devoted to painting the campus FIERCE! As Hofstra University's first fashion club, we have a passion for fashion and a forum to come together. We participate in major fashion events, explore job opportunities, go on field trips, meet industry professionals, and so much more!
