Comparative Literature, Languages, & Linguistics

Experiential Learning & Internships

Students may advance their foreign language skills by studying abroad. Hofstra University offers study abroad programs during the winter and summer intercessions. There is also a semester-long program available in India. More information may be found at hofstra.edu/studyabroad. Department faculty also work with students to secure study abroad opportunities available through other institutions.

Hofstra’s proximity to New York City means students in the Department of Comparative Literature, Languages, & Linguistics have numerous opportunities to expand upon their core undergraduate education through an internship or other professional level activities.

Students may research and find internships through the Hofstra Center for Career Design and Development. Call 516-463-6060 for more information or email the Career Center’s HCLAS liaison, Sabeen Sheikh.
