Dr. Grant Saff, Chairperson of the Department, invited to the University of Puerto Rico – February 27, 2014

Dr. Grant Saff was invited to visit the Geography Department of the University of Puerto Rico last week (2/27/14), where he gave a talk  to faculty and students entitled "How Globalization has Challenged the Future of Universities." In addition to the Geography Department, the talk was also sponsored by the Sociedad Geógrafos de Puerto Rico and the  Asociación Estudiantes de Geografía. On 2/28, Dr. Saff  met with the Dean of Social Sciences, Dr. Blanca Ortiz Torres, and faculty and students in the Department to discuss the challenges and opportunities for geography departments and geography education in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
