Joseph Carozza went from Hofstra’s School of Communication to eventually becoming head of media for Republic Records.
As the label’s Senior Vice President, Media, he orchestrates and executes PR campaigns for some of music’s top artists like Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Enrique Iglesias, Nicki Minaj and more, as well as leading the media department. However, it all started when he took on his first internship, while a sophomore at Hofstra.
“Hofstra’s programs really encouraged me to pursue my career early on,” he says. “I was able to gain a foothold in the industry and begin to understand the ins and outs of public relations as I interned for the likes of Def Jam Recordings, Rogers & Cowan and The Britto Agency. I embraced each opportunity as if it were already a full-time job, and that was something I learned in the Communication program. Every door opened into the next. Hofstra built a launchpad for me to jump into my career with my first job at Rogers & Cowan.”
Joseph cultivated a foundation for his career and life at Hofstra. He parlayed that first job at Rogers & Cowan to a Vice President of Publicity position at Epic Records, and eventually running the PR department at Republic Records. The beginning of this incredible career happened at Hofstra.
