*Candidates preparing for more than one certification which requires the multi-subject, only need to take part three once. For example, candidates in the early childhood/childhood dual program will need to take parts (211) (212) (221) (222)(245). Students seeking certification in b-2 and/or 1-6 who took and passed the "old" multi-subject CST are currently able to use that CST to fulfill the Multi-Subject CST requirement.
**Candidates seeking more than one certification will only be required to complete one edTPA. Candidates will determine which edTPA by consulting with their program advisor.

Please note: At its March 13, 2017 meeting, the Board of Regents eliminated the requirement for candidates to take and pass the Academic Literacy Skills Test (ALST), or use the safety net, in order to obtain an Initial classroom teaching certificate

Safety Nets for the Educating All Students test (EAS), and certain redeveloped Content Specialty Tests (CSTs)

The Board of Regents, by emergency regulation, created safety nets for the Educating All Students test (EAS), and certain redeveloped Content Specialty Tests (CSTs).
http://www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/certificate/certexamsafetynets.html

These safety nets will be effective through June 30, 2017. If necessary, candidates may take advantage of multiple safety nets in order to meet the requirements for certification and will have until June 30, 2018, one year later, to meet all other certification requirements.
